The Vimy Gate Memorial at CFB Kingston was erected in 1962 to honour personnel of the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals (RCCS) who gave their lives in the service of their country.
On 26 June 2014, a commemorative service was held at this memorial to honour and include the names of the RCCS members who died on duty between 1962 and the 1968 unification, as well as to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country since the creation of the Communications and Electronic Branch. For this occasion, two new bronze plaques: one in English and one in French were unveiled on either side of the existing memorial by LCol (ret`d) Tony Charters and CWO (ret`d) Tony Fequet, Signallers Club of Canada. Also, the names of the 58 personnel of the Corps and Branch who lost their lives while in service were read.
Le monument commémoratif de la Porte Vimy à la BFC Kingston a été ériger en 1962 pour honorer le personnel du Corps des transmissions royal canadien (CTRC) en service qui donné leur vie à leur pays.
Le 26 juin 2014, un service commémoratif a eut lieu à ce monument pour honorer et inclure les noms du personnel du CTRC qui sont mort en service entre 1962 et l`unification de 1968, ainsi que ceux qui ont fait le sacrifice ultime aux service de leur pays depuis la création de la Branche des communications et de l`électronique. Lors de cette occasion, deux nouvelles plaques de bronze: une en anglais et l`autre en français ont été dévoilées de chaque coté du monument par Col (retraité) Tony Charters et l`Adjuc (retraité) Tony Fequet, Signallers Club of Canada. Aussi, les noms des 58 personnes du Corps et de la Branche qui sont décédé en service ont été lus.
