Books of Remembrance

An individual must be or have been in the past a Class A member or a Class B Honorary Member of The Signallers Club of Canada Inc in good standing as defined in the Club’s By-law No 1 Sections 2.01.01 and 2.01.02. in order to be eligible to have his/her name registered in "The Signallers Club of Canada Book of Remembrance." Please send details of any omissions or corrections to secretary at symbol the-sigs-club.ca. Replace the "at symbol" with @ and remove any spaces.

The Canadian Virtual War Memorial, a registry of information about the graves and memorials of more than 116,000 Canadians and Newfoundlanders who served valiantly and gave their lives for their country. Mémorial virtuel de guerre du Canada 
un répertoire sur les tombes et monuments commémoratifs de plus de 116 000 Canadiens et Terre-Neuviens ayant servi vaillamment et donné leur vie pour leur pays.
The Canadian Merchant Navy War Dead Database is an index that can be used to search for the names of Canadian Merchant seamen who were killed while serving in Canada's Merchant Marine. La Base de données des marins marchands canadiens morts à la guerre est un index qui peut servir à rechercher les noms de marins marchands canadiens qui furent tués au cours de leur service dans la marine marchande canadienne.
The Books of Remembrance contain the names of Canadians who fought in wars and died either during or after them. All the books are kept in the Memorial Chamber located in the Peace Tower on Parliament Hill. Les Livres du Souvenir contiennent les noms des Canadiens qui ont combattu et qui sont morts pendant ou après les guerres. Tous les livres sont placés dans la Chapelle du Souvenir située dans la tour de la Paix au Parlement.

This self-funding project will create a single place of remembrance for all our fallen heroes - a place that families, friends and the general public can visit and remember. It will incorporate the names of the Canadian fallen in all conflicts of record, starting with the earliest. It's a Wall of Remembrance for both the living and the dead:a unique project by veterans and other proud Canadians.
